GU Japan Sailor Moon Luna Purse – REVIEW

One of my favourite anime to watch as a child was Sailor Moon. I watched it in English on YTV, and managed to find a French dub and Japanese version of the series later on. After a few years,Β  I no longer had new episodes to watch so I watched the live action drama and the new Sailor Moon Crystal. As soon as I found out GU Japan was having a collaboration with Sailor Moon, my inner fangirl screamed with soooo much excitement! But of course, it’s difficult to get things from GU Japan overseas… luckily we have JBOX Japan which helps customers like me get the products we want and love from Japan.

When I saw that JBOX had some Sailor Moon items, I knew that I had to look no further. I purchase this super cute Luna purse.

It is the perfect size to hold a few items, such as my cellphone, wallet, keys, lip balm and even other small items! The purse is made with a very sturdy pleather material and the crescent moon on the front of the bag with the engraved eyes makes it look and feel authentic. It’s definitely an eye-catching purse and I get a ton of compliments on it all the time!

It retailed for $30 USD. Unfortunately the Luna bag isn’t in stock anymore, but I was also thinking of purchasing the Artemis purse which you can find here. If you’re a fan of Sailor Moon, I’d recommend getting the purse fast because these items are limited edition. A lot of things in Japan are limited edition and theyΒ really don’t come back… which is sad, but that’s what makes the items so unique, right? πŸ™‚

OOTD: Autumn Bells

This year I decided that I would try to incorporate some fall colours into my wardrobe. Maybe I was too early, but I couldn’t find a lot of fall colours that I enjoyed… then I stumbled upon this beautiful dark crimson top from Simons, and decided to make an outfit around it.

Top: Simons / Socks: Either from Ardenes or Japan / Shoes: Aldo / Shorts: Asia Fashion Wholesale

This outfit was actually inspired by Rin from Fate/Stay Night. I always wanted a nice crimson top like hers and I adored the zettai ryouki (absolute zone) style she had going on with her black skirt and thigh highs. My outfit is a variation, but it incorporates all the elements. If I had black hair I would have also done some twin tails too!

The top is a great fall staple. It’s warm, and makes you feel like a wizard cruising the cold winds!

What kind of outfits are you inspired by? What is your favourite autumn outfit? Let me know in the comments section below!

Video: Simons Fall Clothing Haul

It’s been so long since I last made a clothing haul. Fall is here now and so I thought about adding some more autumn items to my wardrobe this year. I have been obsessed with this Canadian store called Simons lately and I couldn’t resist the sales that they are having right now. There are some pretty good markdowns on clothing that I have been eyeing! You can watch my haul video on YouTube by clicking on the preview below!

Outfit of the Day: Stars and Plaid

I went to the zoo the other day. It was 33 degrees Celsius… which is FREAKING hot!! I normally go for a cardigan or jacket to wrap around (I don’t like tans), but it was just too hot that day, so I opted for a simple t-shirt and a skirt… and a giant water bottle to keep me hydrated throughout the day, which also kept the sweat at bay.

T-Shirt: Simons – Skirt: Mariposa – Shoes: Payless Shoesource

The inner punk rocker in me screamed in excitement when I saw this gold star shirt at Simons for only $14.99 CDN. I was looking for a new graphic t-shirt, and was so happy to find this keeper! The red plaid skirt with black lace trimming has been in my wardrobe for quite some time now. It’s from a store called Mariposa, which I believe has closed down now. Can you guess how long I’ve had this skirt for? 13 years! When I was much shorter back then this skirt was probably closer to my knees… but now it’s pretty much a mini-skirt, but I still enjoy wearing it.

Outfit & Makeup of the Day – Dark & Coral + Blog Update!

If you stumbled upon this post, then you’ve made it to my brand new blog domain! I’ve been thinking about purchasing a domain and separate hosting for quite some time for my blog… and finally made that decision last week. Welcome to the new phixien.com! Surprisingly it was a breeze moving my old posts over from my old WordPress blog. The reason it took me so long was because I was shopping around and doing my research on the best hosting service. The items I really needed was a lifetime domain, fast/uncapped bandwidth and enough space to host my blog and any images/videos that I’d need to use on my blog. I read a ton of reviews and decided to go with FastComet. Which has been so good to me so far! πŸ™‚

I quite enjoyed the layout from my previous blog so I decided to stick with that theme again. I’m going to be redoing the header here soon…. so excuse any pixelation that you might see for now.

With the new domain, I am hoping to blog a little more and share more of my recent finds, reviews and other posts with you all and am so excited! It will also give me the flexibility and much more control over what I post here (like my YouTube videos) so that I can continue to share everything I create for the blog and my channels. Thank you to all visitors, both old and new. I hope to provide some good posts for you to read!

Now onto the outfit & makeup of the day!

Coral Makeup Open Eyes

For date night, I usually like to glam up but because it was a night right after work, I was pretty exhausted and much too lazy to put on false lashes, so I kept my makeup very simple. (We were also going out for some smoked BBQ meat, so no need to glam up too much since it’ll be a mess with all the flavourful sauces!) I have been obsessed with coral coloured makeup lately, and so I went for this sultry look. πŸ™‚

Colourpop Eyeshadow in Wait for It
Sephora Colourful Wink-It Felt Liner in Little Black Dress

Since this look was a bit daring, I opted for my simple black dress from Forever 21. It slips right on so easily and goes well with this look. Easy and simple makeup/outfit for date night.

Girls Night Outfit – Florals

My first post on fashion! I am in no means an expert in fashion, and everyone’s styles are completely different, so do not quote me on anything. πŸ™‚ My style changes from time to time, but I have been really into florals for a while… They are perfect for the summer and the super hot weather we have been getting here lately!

I haven’t been to a girls night out in a very long time, and so I was pretty stumped as to what to wear for a enjoyable evening with the girls. I turned to Pinterest first, and a lot of the results that popped up when I searched “summer girls night out outfits” were a little too much club-like, or full of items I didn’t really feel comfortable wearing out on their own, like spaghetti strap tops and tank tops. I’m afraid of bug bites!

So I dug through my closet and I’m sure some of you can relate what a strange feeling that can be. There will always be outfits you want to wear, but then you may find that they aren’t appropriate for the evening, or they may expose your skin too much to the sun/bugs… but once I stumbled upon my floral jumper that I hadn’t worn in ages, I was set for the night.

Here is me trying to ‘model’ for a decent photo… I should have taken more angles of the outfit, but it’s so simple!

Floral Romper from Forever 21

The back has a nice criss-cross pattern and ties up at the bottom of your back. It took a bit for me to get used to this dress, as I hadn’t worn an off-the-shoulder top or dress before, but I love the shoulder straps, it makes it so much easier to wear the top, especially if you are new to shoulder tops.

In case you’re curious, we ended up going to Trolley 5 for some food and drinks. Their mac and cheese entree with a fried egg is absolutely DEE-LICIOUS! I cannot recommend it enough, go try it if you are a fan of mac and cheese! We also went to Presotea, a new bubbletea place that opened on 17th ave. So many flavours!

What outfit do you have sitting in your closet that you had to give a second try, and why? Let me know in the comments below!
