NYX Comestics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Stone Fox – REVIEW

I have been looking at so many matte liquid lipsticks in the last few months and eventually tried to make a purchase, however that never really came to light as the CDN dollar is very unappealing at the moment. I had my eye on the liquid lipsticks from Jeffree Star Cosmetics, however in CDN dollars it would cost me well over $35 for just one lipstick. Wearing bold colours appeal to me very much, but I don’t have the opportunity to wear them as often as I would like to, so spending that amount of money wouldn’t really be ideal. I started to look into alternatives, and luckily, Shoppers Drug Mart once again became my holy grail store for cosmetics.

I walked into my local SDM, and low and behold, NYX Cosmetics had come back! A few weeks after, the Liquid Suede Lipsticks came to light. I was very lucky to snag the last vial of Stone Fox that was on the shelves. I got this shae because it would be less daring than other vibrant colours, and it would add great versatility to other colours already in my collection.

It glides on so smoothly with the doefoot applicator. One swipe, and the colour goes on wonderfully with full pigmentation.

It’s sticky after putting it on, but eventually dries to a matte finish after several minutes. It’s definitely not transfer-proof… having this shade makes any transfer look like a smear of eyeliner or mascara, or dirt. However, after blotting the lips a few times, transfer seemed less noticeable.

This shade particularly blends in well with lighter lipstick shades to add more darkness. Want a vampy look? It’s as easy as blending a bright red lipstick with this shade.

I can’t review the wear time much, as I haven’t worn it out of the house yet, but after an hour of gaming, the lipstick stayed on as it was first applied.

Removal is easy with any makeup remover. It’s somewhat waterproof, as in, it won’t smear all over if it comes in contact with it. I removed it with olive oil but it still settled into the fine lines of my lips, so make sure to exfoliate before application.

I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fun shade to wear on a day or night out and don’t want to break the bank. It would be nice if this was kissproof or transfer-proof, but that’s not really the case here. If you don’t mind that, I would say go ahead and make that purchase!

I am interested in purchasing other colours from the line, such as Amethyst, which is a rich royal purple. For now, I’ll stick with my Stone Fox. 😉
